Handmade Charcuterie and/or Cutting Boards
Our cutting boards and/or charcuterie boards are handmade items that utilize all natural hardwoods. The woods used may include domestic varieties such as maple, cherry, walnut and ash. They may also contain so-called 'exotic' woods such as padauk (bright red), purpleheart (purple), blackwood (dark mahogany-like color), canarywood (brown and yellow) and Peruvian walnut (very dark, almost black).
The individual strips are glued using an approved, food-safe, waterproof adhesive. The completed board sanded to a very fine grit then sealed and finished with multiple coats of food-safe mineral oil along with a final coat of a mineral oil-based 'Cutting Board Butter' that contains food-safe beeswax and food-safe carnuba wax.
Our cutting boards require periodic maintenance to maintain appearance and long-term functionality. Please click on the link below to view our PDF document on how to care for your board.

What Is A Charcuterie Board?
Charcuterie (pronounced shar-KOO-tuh-ree) is simply a fancy word, derived from the French chair (meaning meat) and cuit (meaning cooked). Charcuterie is simply the art of preserving meat and has been around for centuries. A charcuterie "board" is a display of cooked (think deli) meats surrounded by other, complementary food (i.e. - fruits, cracker, dips and nuts). Someone has said that charcuterie boards are just larger versions of cheese boards that feature more meat!

Our handmade charcuterie boards are designed to make the presentation of your own charcuterie display both beautiful and functional! What is the difference between a charcuterie board and a cutting board? We're not sure what the rules are for this or if there are even any rules!
We tend to classify boards that are longer and more narrow as charcuterie boards. But there are no reasons that any of our charcuterie boards cannot be used as cutting boards either. Basically it's up to the owner to decide what to do with these boards. Even the smallest of our cutting boards can be used as a charcuterie board. So, find something you like and use it however you want!
